Good. Anyone who pays in to Social Security deserves the full benefit without being penalized for working another job.

Democrats want to help everyday people and Republicans don’t. The incoming Republican administration is already planning to take away Social Security to give tax cuts to themselves and the very wealthy. They say it out loud.

On top of this, oil companies want to lease abandoned, plugged oil wells to their own divisions or to startups who plan to store captured CO₂ in the wells, knowing full well that pressurized gas will migrate among interconnected wells and leak into the atmosphere, endangering the planet and life on it, along with the economy.

Maybe people could try and focus on the fact we just elected a President who’s going to destroy what covered healthcare we do have and realize that sometimes voting is preservation of things you don’t want yourself or the people around you to lose.

How do people here not understand two things can be true simultaneously? Insurance companies are vile. Denying claims for no reason is vile. But also, “the revolution” didn’t start today. No real action. UHC will just replace him.

Voting for people who will pass better legislation would help, but in a country that gets 19 to 24% turnout in primaries where there are actual people who’d do that to choose from can’t really be serious about change.

Trans kids are often in distress as it is.

This, like many other areas of medicine, is still evolving, but the patients have to be treated in the here and now. These cases are all unique and as such I would much prefer a child to be under the care of an expert, rather than legislators, most of whom are using it as a political cudgel.

I get the distinct impression that people who idealize the French Revolution don’t really know much about history and don’t care to learn.

It’s become romanticized as a glorious and utopic display of autonomy and freedom when in reality it was chaotic, bloody, and paved the way for a despot to take over.
