Ah! That'll do it.

@aeva @mcc @renkotsuban Oh! I would say /duh-CAL/. Not sure I've ever heard it spoken.
The Swedish cognate "dekal" is /deh-KARL/.
@ShadSterling The ashes take up less space in the landfill, and you get energy out of it.
True for most garbage, but with plastic the incineration also means getting rid of the plastic, as in no plastic escaping the landfill and ending up in the ocean. Depending on the plastic, it may evaporate entirely.
@nf3xn Bun is written in Zig? That's interesting, thanks for bringing that up!
It seems to also need Go and Rust to build, as well as Ruby and Perl. Does it have dependencies that are written in Go and Rust and use Ruby and Perl in their build process?
In dream2, the villain of dream2 taught me of dream1, the framing dream, how to forgive one's enemies and find common ground. I reported this to someone else in dream1, I think I was explaining dream2 to them.
When dream2 restarted, my antagonist recognized that we had already been there before and encouraged me to choose another path, that we both had a second chance and didn't have to choose mutual destruction.
He was similar to either a cartoonish Disney Captain Hook or a more realistic Jack Sparrow, perhaps both in some Schrödingeresque way, and we were flying, or perhaps swimming very fast underwater, destroying buildings as we fought.
Something something his ancestor, perhaps I was finding some treasure, it's already becoming very fuzzy, or perhaps we both ended up fighting some monster in the end. Our main fight would start in some restaurant each time and then it would take us to some underwater city ruins, with tall concrete-skeleton buildings and abandoned highway bypasses, which we would proceed to ruin even more with our epic Dragonball fight.
Also something something maybe we ended up rewriting the past and/or finally rescuing some people who had been marooned on some island for years. We got some flashback at the end of how people had had some plan years ago to hitch a ride on some passing sea monster, something about attaching and grabbing ropes, not too different from riding a sandworm. They had all done their best and worked together, but it was just too difficult, and in the end I think maybe a few got away, or maybe even they fell in the water at some point, and most were left stranded.
It is very unclear how the epic fight story and the marooned and rescued story fit together.
I've had an iterated dream before, where I would return to the same dream over and over for several weeks, and I would get further and further into the story of the dream, until finally I had resolved the dream and I never had it again.
Well, now in one sleep I had an iterated dream within one dream.
@smallJaguar Specifically this comment:
@workingclasshistory #TIL about the #WhiteAustralia policy. Thank you.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Au…
The key feature of this legislation was the dictation test, which was used to bar non-white immigrants from entry. Subsequent acts further strengthened the policy.[11] These policies effectively gave British migrants preference over all others through the first half of the 20th century. During World War II, Prime Minister John Curtin reinforced the policy, saying "This country shall remain forever the home of the descendants of those people who came here in peace in order to establish in the South Seas an outpost of the British race."
Woah.
The protest at the Mexico Olympic Games was in 1968, when some of the policy still remained, officially and unofficially, but was on its last breath:
The Migration Act 1958 abolished the dictation test, while the Holt government removed discrimination against non-white applicants for citizenship in 1966. The Whitlam government passed laws to ensure that race would be totally disregarded as a component for immigration to Australia in 1973. In 1975, the Whitlam government passed the Racial Discrimination Act, which made racially-based selection criteria unlawful.I voted "write directly", as that is what I would like to do.
@forteller Is "Børge" in Norwegian pronounced with a hard G or is it pronounced like "Børje"?
Swedish has "Börje", one of my uncles has that name'
This looks fun: "Home Movie: The Princess Bride"

But it was on Quibi. Is it available somewhere authorized, or should I go to community backups?
@mansr I had two possible interpretations, either you meant there is no opt-out of glitter, because come on, how can you not want glitter, and the other one was that once glitter is there, you physically have no way to opt out.
I honestly thought you meant the former, so I thought I was making a joke by interpreting it as the latter!
I didn't follow HIMYM and I basically haven't seen anything Jason Segel was in after "The Muppets" (2011).
People are saying some great things about "Shrinking", so I'm adding that to my long to-watch list.
On a side note, dude is looking *fit*. Nothing wrong with Jason Segel 2011, but he has clearly been working out during the decade since.
@cederbs That tracks! It looks like a quick and easy solution and then we're stuck with dealing with the pollution and flimsy products.
