   @pixx @eniko @angelastella @gabrielesvelto @cederbs why do people incinerate plastic? Is that better than burying it in a landfill?

     @ShadSterling The ashes take up less space in the landfill, and you get energy out of it.

     True for most garbage, but with plastic the incineration also means getting rid of the plastic, as in no plastic escaping the landfill and ending up in the ocean. Depending on the plastic, it may evaporate entirely.
