   @forteller Is "Børge" in Norwegian pronounced with a hard G or is it pronounced like "Børje"?

   Swedish has "Börje", one of my uncles has that name'

     @clacke Yes, it has a hard g. But there is also a variant with a j also: Bjørge for men, and Bjørg for women. But it's still with a hard g :)

     @clacke Yep, Birger with a hard g that too. I guess we're just a bit harder here than in Sweden in general :P

     @forteller That's interesting! I think Norwegian also has "Birger"? How is that pronounced? In Swedish that's /birjer/.

     @forteller Is soft G a thing at all in Norwegian, or is the spelling simply with a "J" instead, if that's the sound?
