@sun you are right, the writing is pretty hard, still easier than Chinese though, the Chinese-imported characters are hard, but the native Japanese syllabaries are very simple.

ergoThe reason why there is almost no non-Japanese people in Japan is because they extra-legally try to get you to commit suicide or to leave the country, they basically seek to enforce what they want but dont have power to do publicly. They were forced to open their country but didnt want to, they are forced to pretend to be a western-like society with freedom and human rights and all that, but they are obviously not, and in practice you realize that they want to get your money, then kick you out, and if you try hard to stay, they will try to kick you out, and if you still resist, the will try to kill you.
Its not an "impenetrable society" because the language is "so hard" (spoiler, it isn't hard, its actually quite primitive, improvised and simple, for example the grammar can be learned in an afternoon) or the culture is so nuanced that only one that is born in it could ever understand it (lying is not a culture, once you realize their lack of morality you instantly understand everything, the lack of understanding at first comes from projecting morality unto them when they dont have it in the first place)
The "impenetrability" of the society is simply due to the fact that they despise you and will do anything in their power to attack you.
@sun@icedquinn@anemone@arcana well if the patent institution is downstream from the government then its probably being used for psyops, for example, making enemy nations think we have better tech than we actually have.
Noteworthy to mention how I said "we" even though I am not American and the Americans would probably have me in my country die (Spain)
But I guess one wants to believe himself part of the Empire.
@sun@icedquinn@anemone@arcana that looks like a problem about to happen, inventions are the brainchild of creative geniuses that think outside of the box, patent office workers are the complete opposite I assume
@Inginsub@arcana@icedquinn@sun I've rarely met someone who invented something useful, but I've met hundreds if not thousands of mentally ill people who pretend or believe that they invented something
@Hoss@apropos@egirlyuumimain@Nudhul I mean sooner or later they are gonna try to steal from you or something, so I don't think that mentality really works.
