@skinnylatte There are! But they usually also see it as one personal choice of many not a “wow this is great for all wives” since they usually don’t want *their* wife to be a trad wife. :)
@skinnylatte This feels wildly accurate. I really felt this way when I lived in The Mission and am glad that’s a neighborhood I visit and don’t live in now. I don’t understand how so many people love it. SF’s food isn’t usually that much better on the west side but at least it’s more interesting and has a greater range.
@skinnylatte Huh, I’ll have to give it another try! It’s been awhile but I previously categorized it “pretty good for Oregon” and very much intended that as faint praise.
@skinnylatte Oh interesting. I’ve always felt I’ve been trusting of people generally but now that you mention this I realize how tied into the fact that’s also because I avoid people when my gut says “don’t” on someone.
@skinnylatte watching video of SF from the 1950s makes me a little sick to my stomach. Cities shouldn’t be locked in amber but we’re so terrified of change.
@skinnylatte I didn’t realize that was a routine part of the process—that’s fantastic. We are often an aspirational country yearning to one day live up to our own beliefs, but more often than people realize we at least have the right aspirations.
@skinnylatte Democrats in this country are too often gullible as hell. It’s good to have you here and your clarity is, as always, refreshing. Happy new year and see you in this next one. :)
@skinnylatte I enjoyed them more in the small studio apartment or even SRO form factor than the more common and expensive multi-room format. I think they look cute but I don’t think I’d want to live in one again without having time and money to make some pretty large changes.
@mekkaokereke tomorrow we get to find out if he’s got an advent calendar of pardons to pop open for the rest of the month or whether he’s gonna stop at a milquetoast one.
