   i'm always sad i don't have the negatives from my early film days. but this was from my first roll of film on my first solo travel, exactly 20 years ago in cambodia.

   i was 18 and i decided to travel to cambodia by land. eventually, i made it here. All photography does this for me, but especially with film: it reminds me of exactly where I was and what I felt, at the time.

     also that the less you know something the more fun you can have. if i took this picture today i might have been like 'oh i should've used a tripod'

     but i didn't, and i like the 'imperfections' and unplanned moments too.

     Also from the same year or so: a town pump.

     even everyday things are, through photography, burned into my memory now (i have a thing where i cannot visualize images in my brain. so photography helps me remember moments)

     @skinnylatte it's a wonderful photo! I love the silhouettes of people (all curvy and small) next to the architectural bits (all worn down, but angular).

     I’m really thankful for all of the adventures I got to go on. So many stories, photos.. it feels like a different life, sometimes.
