The social media platforms that get big do so because of telemetry and other silly shit cattle love, there being venture capital to throw nearly unlimited hardware to accommodate any influx and, last but not least, an engagement farming algorithm. You can't stroke your ego or farm dollarydoos by spamming ragebait on the Fediverse, dead (=good) platform.

Worse still, this new faggot shit is " just a standard bro, anybody can implement it". People naturally do and every implementation has their own quirks and special functions to dance around the giant holes that Gayland has (also, as usual, expect the Gnome version to be confusing and retarded for its own sake). Now imagine writing a GUI to support this shit. It's like Android's API hell but worse.
