@feld Not dropping only makes them pay 10x more lol. If they were popular among Americans of African origin, it would've been a disparate impact lawsuit right there.
@sun@goo@Binder@feld@jeffcliff@tk My grandfather once healed a guy with tuberculosis with exercise. IIRC he was from East Germany and came to Soviet Russia to die in some kind of weird story. My grandfather was the coach of the national T&F team, and an author of books about exercise. He looked and deemed that the guy didn't go too far yet, could be salvaged with appropriate training that included breathing. Actual tuberculosis, with the spit collector bottle.
@sun Damn, brother. Something in your body is jacked up. I confirmed that it's easy to clear inappropriate pangs by downing 300..500 mL of water. But that works on the tail end of your inter-meal gap. If you just ate and you're in a hunger, I unfortunately have no quick fix. BTW, in Russia it used to be a general guidance that it's desirable to get up from table while still *slightly* hungry. It will even out as digestion starts up, and allows you to perform immediately after the meal. But obviously that does not refer to being still hungry.
@sun@kaia In addition, isn't it the same as the Leonardo DeCaprio's long sequence of 25-year-old girlfriends? The only slightly problematic part here is that she's a shotacon, dipping under 18.
@sun@feld@FloatingGhost WAP lives in the same category of oddball tech in my mind where BTX resides (and possibly Minitel). It's like what the people of the past thought the future was - only real. Smartphone of Manabi (2005) for illustration. Because of its large size, it's carried in a holster. What a path not taken! Instead, every young woman stuffs a phone in her rear pocket.
@sun@feld@FloatingGhost I think it was back in the days of GSM, which required small cells and large numbers of towers. Now that both Verizon and AT&T use LTE, which has larger cells, the coverage ought to even out. I'm on Verizon because I need it at remote airports (to call Flight Service or a taxi cab). I had a couple of overlay network phones, like Boost Mobile, and they absolutely sucked in coverage.
A little while back, there was a panel with John Mearsheimer and Jeffrey Sachs at "All-In Summit 2024"[1]. The young moderator tried to entrap Mearsheimer by asking him if he agreed that we ought to oppose dictators, yes or no. The obvious game plan was to force the guest into a conflict with himself. Both Mearsheimer and Sachs oppose the globohomo action in Ukraine.
Mearsheimer's reply was "depends on the context". The mod boy was STUNNED (or pretended to be). Do you really oppose or not oppose dictators depending on context?!
Well, yes, my boy. You will understand it when you grow up.
@sun@mushroom_soup The memory foam is exactly that: envelopes too much and is unbearably hot. Also, I don't find it particularly comfortable anyway. However, a number of companies make expandable foam mattresses now. Casper was the pioneer of it. I thought it was not firm enough and replaced it with Bear. I had the Bear for at least 4 years and it's exactly what I want.
