@darnell@one.darnell.one@darnell@flipboard.com Basically, don't use Chrome if you can help it (I use Safari and sometimes Firefox), and switch your default search engine to DuckDuckGo. There are other ways to reduce the trackers on your browser (eg ad blockers). #iPhone
@RickiTarr The funny thing is, I know more about the world from escaping into social media than I ever did from escaping into "socially acceptable" media. I vote at all levels now. I *care* about all levels now. I see the pain others are enduring now. Before I would have to seek out media to inform myself of these things. Now it finds me.
@noyoushutthefuckupdad@fcktheworld587 Fanboys are such assholes. Why can't we have women as heroes? Why can't we have black people as heroes? Why can't we have Asian people as heroes? There's a whole world out there. White people are the anomaly.
@jmcrookston It's worse than that. As the temperature increases, even a young healthy body can't sweat fast enough to keep cool. Those of us who no longer fit in that category have to be even more careful. What's happening in India is a disaster, and that is coming soon to a city near you.
@mike805@mekkaokereke@jonathanpeterson@noyes@EdSanders@beadsland It was a complex message poorly communicated, based on faulty information. It's true that with so few cases at the beginning, there was no value in masking. But the mistake was thinking SARS2 would pass mostly by droplets picked up by your hands. In that case poor mask practice could make things worse. But as we now know, it is airborne and masking was definitely better.
@BeAware@diametrijenesis I use Mona as well. Its essential feature is that it uses the captions on photos in the Photos app for alt text, and saves alt text when saving photos.
It's missing Markdown support, otherwise it would be perfect for me.
How do N95 masks catch particles that are smaller than the holes?
1. Particles are sticky because of static forces 2. Large particles go straight until they hit a mask layer Tiny particles get knocked around by molecules until they hit a fibre 3. Fibres are given an electric charge so that they attract all particles (the mid-sized particles carrying the SAR2 virus need this)
