My grandfather was Mario Cuomo's COS for a while, other roles too. He told me that this was going to happen when I went to visit with him in 2001, a couple of months before 9-11. According to him:

NY GOP was in bed with Russia in the 80s
The GOP was going to go over to Putin.
Trump was going to be president w/strong backing from the evangelicals.

I excused myself to the bathroom because I thought his mind was slipping. It sounded so insane.

I'm just going to say that the worst thing about Covid is parainfectious destruction of the endothelium, brain, and lymphoid spaces. If someone is not afraid of that it is only because they think the rules don't apply to them.

Netanyahu let Sinwar out of prison in 2011. How strange that Sinwar attacked Israel the day before Bidi's career ending corruption trial was to begin.

If you ask me, Sinwar's death should serve as a warning to all aspiring Arab elites that see an alliance with Israel as a path to power. Blackmailed parties often come to see their blackmailers as allies when rewards are involved. And when their new allies betray them, the best they can do is lob a stick before they die.

That's not an entirely accurate characterization of American populism. The politics of the Far Right arent inherently populist at all. Modern faux-populists like the Proud Boys and other supremacist groups is underwritten by the forces true populists would oppose: corporations and oligarchs. Calling the PBs populist is a lot like calling socialists communists even though socialism and communism have little true overlap.
