Reminder that in the 1920s, the KKK controlled Texas, Illinois, Indiana, and Colorado, and was powerful in other states like California and Georgia.

They targeted Blacks but also Jews, Asians, Catholics (the KKK was Protestant), and "new women."

Earlier, in the late 1800s and early 1900s, people were against the vote for women because they knew they would vote for progressive values.
