To me, the difference between the UK and US is that the former is signed up to various international laws, and courts. As a result this is yet more evidence, if it can be shown that these are UK supplied weapons, the UK should be hauled infont of the international criminal courts.

Lawyers here have warned we could be breaking international law by supplying weapons (or other help I guess) that leads to the deaths of civilians.

Excellent piece there, I agree, and some great points made, l especially around AI,

I am currently listening to the Audiobook of the Hound of the Baskervilles, interestingly I am up to chapter 10, and holmes has hardly been in it, in fact it is Watson, mostly at Baskerville hall, and area, chapter 10 is more Watson writing to holmes updating on the investigation so far.

I guess Sherlock Holmes and Watson could be a good example of why critical thinking is so important, deduce conclusions from evidence and observation.

It would help if the media would report FACTS, rather than on every speculation that comes out, which is usually contradictort, I would much rather read an update every few weeks, that includes evidence on both sides so as a reader we can draw our own conclusions, the current situation is something is reported, then the next day it is changed.

In a trial you get the Prosecution, Defense put their points across, the judge then sums up, the jury then make a decision based on the evidence presented, hence they are not allowed do their own research, they can (I think) ask for clairification on various points if needed to help with the decision.

+1 , old internet saying 'Don't feed the trolls'. Attention seeking seems to be far more common place now, but at one time if children were doing this, they were told by adults to stop, grow uo or something similar, we now have to see attention seeking as a cry for help for example, where as at times it is just attention seeking and needs to be abrubtly ended.

I feel that, with social media you need to take control and take care if your elf, at least with Fedi, I am not sure about bluesky, no one cares if you take a week off from posting or interacting, but I mean this in a positive way, but not quite sure how to express that. You also don't get endless notifications making you feel guilty for not interacting.

I think a lot of people are in the same or similar situation, and feel the same, I guess a form can only have so many fields, for the backend dataase, however there is no reason why a field can't be town/city, which would make a little more sense.

They just make assumptionsn based what ever data they have, as think everyone lives in a city, similar to the UK where a majority of people seem to live in London/South East, and when it comes to the South West anything south of Bristol does not exist or people there are not important enough to have events closer or they are able to commute.

All this collected data you would think they would be able to accommodate more varied needs.

@zleap I think most people could count themselves lucky if they were smart or intuitive enough to find someone who was capable of giving them solid advice on the market, as opposed to just chasing short-term gains.

Solid advice right now is adjust future investment dollars/returns more toward bonds, which have had a rough spell recently but almost certainly will do well soon when the market suffers the inevitable series of corrections.

Sometimes how we pronounce a word, can impact how we try and spell it, the word Phone as in Telephone can be soekt Fone (or certainly in advertising) this cab be confusing, unless you are taught. Words such as Sulfur and Sulphate can are now spelt as Sulfur and Sulfate, which were the US spellings but have now become accepted internationally, it does make more sense in some cases.

This may sound harsh, but those investing their life savings in to say crypto, they are adults, they should know the risks etc.

We have a TV programme in the UK, it is about people buying property at auction, usually as property developers, one of the things that the presenters keep reminding people 'read the legal pack' as that has all the info about the property, any issues, covenents or otehr restrictions.

I am NOT an expert, but surely it is important to invest but do so after taking solid advice on the subject before hand.
