@kaia Thanks for sharing this. I didn’t get to go to Blockbuster much, since we didn’t have one very close by. We used a local place, which also rented out video games, like for N64. We switched to Hollywood video once the local shop closed. Now all of them are gone. :’(

Some seemed to be going in a pretty ambitious direction with it that got completely ignored because of feminism and feelings.
There’s a schizo graph or two I saw that was connecting the main entities involved in GG1 with both Intelligence and international finance groups. The focus was on guys like (I think) Prince Al Waleed, instead of scammers like Anita.

I wonder how his views on the world have changed after living through the Las Vegas false flag/ritual slaughter/failed assassination attempt/whatever. I don’t have the webm handy, but somebody made a good edit of that.

One point in his favor is that he condemned the “Candy Man” guy for raising his kids in a an even more degenerate environment than what Dan does. Basically saying it wasn’t any place for them and you really should pick one: live in a fantasy lifestyle or forge a healthy home environment.
He may be committed to being a living meme, but he seems to have his head on straight about more things than a huge amount of his “peers” (fellow Instagram “influencers”).

I saw a list of a few alternatives, but I only remember Metapedia by name (which can definitely stand to have more citations and more filled out sections) and it definitely is more narrow in its focus/knowledge base.

@alex @aniki There’s gotta be some way to develop DIY solutions for small to medium-small developers and self-hosters. I’m sure there’s always complicated shenanigans that attackers could pull (which, honestly, many of the attacks could be coordinated by shady people at Cloudflare themselves, like “convincing” people they need the mob’s “protection”). But, the issue that worries me the most, when I looked into this, is how some hardware can be physically destroyed by the excessive network attacks. That sounds more like an electronics issue than a cybersecurity issue.

I think it’s because they have generally “abnormal” inclinations and sensibilities, higher than average sensitivities, and massive trust issues re: everyone outside their accepted community (kind of normal, but it’s coupled with agenda driven ambition to make their world view and way of life the default one).
Things need to be banned because it threatens the stability of the whole (“big things have s beginnings” and all that) and people need to be monitored because they cannot be trusted to do the Right Thing™ on their own.

@romin @coolboymew Newgrounds has been implementing siteside Ruffle support for a good many of its games and animations, apparently. I checked in with them today and saw a few that still prompted me to download their own “Flash Player” app (Windows only), but others just loaded Ruffle, even though I didn’t have it installed as a plug-in, and stuff like Epic Battle Fantasy 2 by Matt-Likes-Swords played like in the old days.
That place is truly a living bastion of 2000s (and beyond) net culture. Hell, culture in general. And I’m torn between wanting all the Zoomers and Gen Alpha to know about it and get educated in the proper ways of things (humor, design, quality, content, etc.) and never telling them jack about it so they don’t ruin it.
