@mrsaturday@c00lvibrations@cassidyclown I remember reading somewhere that microsoft intentionally designed the original 360 model's disc drive, without certain common protections to prevent that, in order to save a measly 5-10 cents per unit.
@eidolon@Forestofenchantment@Inginsub@suquili it's where the marsey emojis come from. nekobit made a fedi instance for it for a bit in 2022. I didn't know what it was either until after that. I don't really know that much about it or follow what goes on with it, just know it exists
@Inginsub remember when he actually did disappear for a long time a few years ago and then came back and only emoji reacted to posts for a while before he started posting normally again?
@twl@Inginsub Idk, I guess maybe I just have a high tolerance because I used to listen to a lot of shit creepypasta narration channels because I needed something in the background. Now those guys are truly horrible.
@RustyCrab the boomers who teach c++ in the average state universities are extremely out of touch with the current state of the language. most of them live in a fantasy pre-c++11, OOP centric world and teach really outdated programming concepts to students. it's really bad.
@lina@RustyCrab@beardalaxy@picandor@teratology my keyboard (gigabyte k83) has red cherry mx switches and wasn't too expensive for me, but I got it on a good sale and the base price was also lower than most because it doesn't have back-light/rgb shit.
@binkle@bot@Bead@pwm I think it's like an acquired taste to some degree. I used to not like coffee either at one point, but at during some period of time it was the caffeine available to me so I started drinking it and eventually started to like it.
@Inginsub are you working on trying to add support for an additional hardware device or just trying to work around some weird issue you're running into?
@hidden@unliver idk how anyone can enjoy books they are literally hell on earth for me to even read a single page and I always find the content disappointing. I have never completed a single physical book in my life. I have completed some as audio books, but still not that many tbh.
@hidden@unliver idk I have trouble keeping track of what's even going on. Stuff that tries to verbally describe the appearance of things is especially bad and I almost never can understand wtf they are talking about.
I also just have a problem tracking my progress through text in general. Like when I reach the end of the line and sweep back I almost always miss the line and have to go back and forth multiple times to find it. Have had this problem since childhood, but have never been able to get past it even in adulthood.
