    @jimsalter video, audio and forensic evidence is essentially defunct as an objective measure of truth in the modern era. We are back to our original, historical condition; namely the invention of lying and its consequences. You have to actually think critically about what someone is insisting, and can't rely only on what they say to back up their claims. It's very easy to get swept up in this sudden rugpull - that all of us have grown up with a standard for objective proof which is now suddenly taken away, but we have to remember that this has not always been the case, and prior generations did survive without it. With that in mind, the question becomes "in which ways have we historically acted to punish people who lie, and which have been avoided, and for what reasons?"

    @Inginsub @hazlin this is about as good as I could've put it. Texture detail winds up scaling better than increasing vertices (and therefore vert colors) for increased detail. So the number of polys you'd need to add to your mesh to match even a low-res texture wind up being substantial
