     What the fuck is this Liquid Death shit? I had literally never heard of it until yesterday when some guy fishing off the boardwalk near me was drinking it. Then stopping in at a gas station to pick up something to drink on the way home I saw it too. Like completely out of nowhere I specifically noticed this thing I had never heard of three times in 24 hours.

     @pwm @Bead hey hang on a second you can carbonate beverages with different kinds of gasses. I wonder if non-co2-based carbonated water would taste different than co2 water

     @binkle @Bead My guess is that without it, the bitterness that naturally comes from carbonation would shine through a bit more, perhaps unpleasant to the American palate

     @binkle @Bead Yes, that was what I supposed. If they had sweetened it to make it sweet it definitely would have been a lot more. They probably just put enough in to make the taste pleasant, but not to make it really sweet.

     @pwm @Bead I'm guessing that's the agave nectar. Tbh I don't know why they bothered I can't really taste it - it's not like any of the sweetness actually makes it through

     @Bead its just canned water (optionally sparkling or flavored). i like it alright because the ingredients list is short and devoid of anything suspicious - plus they donate some of their profit to cleaning up plastic waste. its been around for a while but usually found around more liberal areas on account of the aforementioned plastic waste thing.
     
     they have some cringy marketing taglines that i assume the people in charge thought was "badass" but reads more like someone from twitter making up their own The Pack meme, but i grit and bare it because the rest of it is a solid beverage

     @binkle @bot @Bead @pwm I think it's like an acquired taste to some degree. I used to not like coffee either at one point, but at during some period of time it was the caffeine available to me so I started drinking it and eventually started to like it.
