if Germans from the 1850s migrated to the US, and lived in a German village, and only had offspring with other Germans, then their offspring would be the same as the Germans in Germany. Just because they are culturally different, or perceive a different citizenship, doesn't change that. Same with Saul. By his own declaration, he is an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin. He knows enough about his genealogy to know that. I also know this must be true or God would have never selected him, because God didn't go from a Israel-Only racist in 450 BC when brought Ezra back from Persia to a hippy free loving race mixer when He sent Saul.

  True, but where you live, especially several hundred years after your family migrated, has an impact.
  A German that came to America in the 1850s left decedents that are 100% German, but are markedly different from modern Germans in Germany.

  Saul was obviously not a Judean.
  Even by Isiah's time, the twelve tribal areas of the Levant had become quite distinct. Saul was a Roman citizen and NOT a resident of the Levant. He was brought in as a non-local Hebrew specifically to torture early Christians.

  Well, the Hasmonian dynasty forced conversion of the Edomites and the Pharisees rose up in opposition to the Sadducitical practice (which the Hasmonians were).
  
  I would argue the Pharisees were less likely to be intermixed with the Edomites than the Sadducees for that reason. To what degree any jew in Judea, whether Pharisees or Sadducees, were part Edomite I have no idea.
  
  Also, Paul was a Pharisee and I doubt he was any part Edomite and he referred to them as his brothers, so my guess is Pharisees had less Edomite blood than other sects in Judea.
