Some open source projects are very much about the users. Inkscape, Krita, kdenlive, many others.

Mastodon, I think, is a bit of a social experiment based in part on false beliefs (quote posts..., CWs)

It's not meant to be a platform from which you can do business, or some activism types.

    Not yet.

It will happen, it will be slow, but open source projects are forever.

People know how they'll vote. Their decision was still wrong in terms of achieving the outcome they claimed to want.

What idiot can think Trump, a huge Netanyahu fan, recogniser of Jerusalem as capital of Israel, will be "better" for Palestinians? Sorry, but that's fox news levels of being wrong.

I'm reminded of a fellow, upon learning his superior was going to be a woman "I can't be commanded by a bird!". It wasn't said nastily, just in shock and disbelief.

Like this went against the rules of the world.

Also people resenting hugely their superiors being younger than themselves. I've seen that so many times.

Like this was a personal affront.

This is the world we live in. This is the change that will happen, in time.

The first time, yes. The second time perhaps, the third time no. Which is the normal way immunity develops in relatively healthy humans.

Damage implies something cumulative, which it isn't, unless you're immunodepressed (in which case, yes, this is Bad™).

If every time you get COVID it's as bad as the first time, you're in an at risk group. I don't have advice, but be careful.

It doesn't cause low level brain damage on each reinfection.

Only acute (think hospital) has sometimes neurological consequences. It's also unclear how long these (can) last.

But if you get common cold symptoms, you're fine :)

Are people aware that #bluesky will never federate, and that as a walled garden will inevitable enshitify?

It's like the whole fascism thing. Don't people ever heed lessons?

In town, though, District heating using heat from incinerators is typically even better than heat pumps.

In principle, there should not be a button. It should happen in the background.

And posts that were slow to come can appear slightly out of order so I see them when I scroll.
