Bosses want you to return to the office. Because you are more productive.
Yet they have under estimated that being at home and shouting swear words at the computer, in response to an email, takes up less of the companies time, than walking over to the boss and punching him in the face.
"the combination of a likely El Niño and fuel and fertiliser shortages is a “perfect” storm for Australian agriculture.
He argues that to estimate its impact we should look at the recent past.
According to his research, “the real price of food today … is roughly where it was in the 1960s”, which he finds “staggering” given huge productivity gains.
His unpublished research suggests that climate change and more extreme weather have eroded those gains by hitting yields, so the potential dividend from improved production has been largely cancelled out."
"Indeed, complications are already rippling through long and complex supply chains. In March, S&P Global reported that Asian rice exports were being hampered by a shortage of the plastic raffia that is used to make sacks to carry and ship the grain, which in turn is made from oil exported from the Gulf."
"The mechanical difference between four-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive comes down to whether the driver has the ability to lock both front and rear axles so they can both receive power simultaneously"
I had a old school part time 4 wheel drive. Lock the front hubs in when off road.
Ladder frame, bash plates, clearance, approach/departure angles, high/ low transfer case, but no locking diffs. A front and back wheel spinning would stop momentum, but didn't really happen. Very capable, yet fails the above definition. Lots of other 4 wheel drives, also didn't have such locks.
While modern systems basically use your abs brakes to direct power and stop spinning wheels. Same as a locking diff, but external. So fit the above definition. Yet lack all the other stuff needed.
I tried pointing this out to my sister, when she purchased her Subaru Outback, but she won't listen. Then her Ex drove it through a long muddy puddle.
Hers the front spoiler acted as a dam, raised the water level in front of it. Then all the muddy water went into the low air intake, at the front of it.
Needed to be pulled to nearest road for a tow truck. Then engine cleaned and rebuilt.
Are you just putting barriers up for the sake of it.
In Australia we have compulsory voting. The independent body that runs elections says there isn't a problem here. The instances of multiple voting is not significant. Mainly confusion by old people. Eg voted at the nursing home earlier, then family took them to voting booth later.
