"The Luton-based Christian charity Azalea, which offers “practical, emotional and spiritual support to women sexually exploited through prostitution” turn out to be more Screaming Jeezus People ranting about witchcraft.

This happened before, in the early 90s during the Orkney Satanic Ritual Abuse scandal. 30 years is long enough for institutional amnesia to set in. Luckily they seem to have caught it in time this time round ...

Oh boy, THIS again: Azalea "offers a checklist of “examples of occult activity” that includes yoga and playing Dungeons & Dragons."

@AntonPNym This isn't recent, in this form it goes back to the early 1980s (and has roots going much deeper—1830s, I believe).

@cstross With this and with recent American political antics I am beginning to wish that we were persecuting certain noxious stripes of Christianity the way they claim we are. (Perhaps not in the hashtag-Nero-was-right sense, but perhaps in the exclusion-from-public-office and denial-of-government-funding senses.)

@iinavpov It's still available—out of stock but they'll reprint if you order 10,000 and up. Here's the full comic on their web page so you don't have to pay for it:

@compassDoesWhat W40K emerged around 1988-90 in the UK. The Satanic Panic had peaked by then, and was predominantly in the USA; the UK didn't really get it bad.
