The problem is, Perl practically begs you to write clever code with all the syntactical sugar it includes for the sole purpose of writing clever code.

And the Holy Roman Empire got an addition later to its name "... of German nations", because that's where most of it was (TL;DR).

Now Hitler's Germany was calling itself the Third Reich, because the first was the Roman Empire, the second the Holy Roman Empire of German nations.
