The older I get, the more I use a plain text editor to hold and express my thoughts. I start every single email and social media post in a text editor. I take time to review and edit my thoughts, before broadcasting them to the infiverse. Plain text is real.

Here we go. Watch how quickly AI collapses when stealing content isn't free anymore. I'd really like to see some OpenSource tools to enforce this everywhere — like small, independent websites that don't use caching services.

Some quick research for Pocket replacements.

I chose Instapaper, with a free account. I exported my Pocket data (.csv file, arrives as a .zip via email), and imported it to Instapaper via the Settings menu. My Pocket items aren't showing yet: don't know how long that normally takes. Instapaper's website seems kinda squirrely - several 500 errors: maybe they're getting slammed by Pocket migrants right now?

OK, so roughly 2001-2012? That makes some sense.

But in the Army we were editing/sharing Microsoft docs with viewable edits (who changed what, in detail) in 2000... on laptops and PCs.

Uhm... better than what, exactly? And what years is he referring to? Is he referring to the awful Surface tablets?

I started using Linux in 1996/7, and switched to using it as my main OS ~2000. Because I found I could turn on my computer, and just get work done.

Got my 2024 taxes done and paid, just under the wire. 😁

I usually have them done in February. Mr. Procrastination strikes again! 🤣

Enough refunds from US and PA to purchase some toy trains later this month at the Eastern Division TCA Meet in York, PA. 🙂

As it turns out, electing traitors to public office *again* is not a great idea. I already knew that, but it appears my fellow US Citizens need more hands-on experience. 🙄

Oddly, I'm doing better mentally than in 2016? I have no idea why. Maybe despair/disillusionment has turned into simple rage? 🤷♂️
