Curious: how so, exactly? What's surprising you about their response?

I'm from the Midwest, and spent a couple years in Minnesota (St. Joseph, 3rd grade, 1969; St. Paul, 1980). So I guess I've always been aware of it, and appreciate its natural beauty and liberal disposition.

Excellent points. I've lived here in NEPA, in a very red county for over 8 years. Before that I lived 15 years in red South Carolina. I always vote. Yes, it often feels pointless, and I know my vote gets overwhelmed. But I'll continue to exercise my rights and my responsibility until I'm incapacitated. It's the least I can do as a Citizen to support & defend the US Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.

Only a very few elected Democrats are calling for Biden to step aside, and almost none of the actual voting Democrats (me included). The hand-wringing is coming from corporate/billionaire owned media (which is yes, almost all of the media in America), and some fence-sitting Independents who didn't vote in the primaries (or who registered "protest votes").

I'm a registered Democrat. I voted for Biden/Harris 2020, in the recent primaries, and I'll do so again this November.

(Benefit at 62yo) * 12 * (76 - 62), vs. (Benefit @ 65yo) * 12 * (76 - 65). Don’t forget to deduct age for chronic illnesses, including COVID. Just be real: it’s your money. Is it better to start receiving benefits at 62yo, or 65yo?
