@RickiTarr I deal with this every day. It's almost comical.
As someone who hates conflict, it's so much easier (and quicker) to get things done "urgently" than to teach people how to manage their own timelines and expectations.

I had a "VP" ask me to download a PDF version of a presentation they were working on.
Simple as clicking FILE > DOWNLOAD > PDF
In the past I would have gotten grumpy and made a stink. Now I just do what they ask and get on with my day. Nobody should have that kinda power over your emotions.

For those wondering, he was told he needed to remotely set up a 5 year old scanner that had never been used or updated, because one of the supervisors didn't want to download a document capture app on their phone.
@chessert @RickiTarr Every person and situation is different. If you've been at the job for years and refuse to learn the basics, you probably won't take kindly to criticism.
If you're new, sure, I'll be happy to help... but as the saying goes, can't teach an old dog new tricks.
I’d have taken the time to create a very detailed HOWTO presentation, with diagrams and screenshots for them. But then, I’m a bit perverse. And retired. 😉
