@WarnerCrocker which is why you can download the open source version from ollama
@trixter Except this time it's not just the young folks, it's the investor/gambling class trying to figure out whether or not to jump in or out.
@WarnerCrocker All this excitement is exactly the same vibes as, what, a week ago? When all the young folks were trying out RedNote?
@chessert Chris, every time we read of a hack or something like this I laugh. Perhaps I'm too old, but if they haven't gotten every bit of data hey need from us by this point, then they obviously aren't that good at what they do.
I guess it's a question for the younger set and those yet to come, but at present I can't imagine they actually need anymore.
So that's worse than that same data being in Musk's/Zuckerberg's hands? I doubt that. I'd rather be screwed over by the Chinese, than by arrogant billionaires who claim to be US citizens.
@chessert I’ll be right there watching with you.
I agree with you, Warner. The only way to limit your data feed now, is not to have any (no phone, no online presence at all, cash only transactions).
But I still enjoy imagining screwing up American big data, as much as possible. These supremely selfish billionaires could be doing incredible things to advance humanity, health, peace, culture....
But no: nothing but consumption and greed. I'll consider myself fortunate, if I can see them burn.
@chessert Indeed
I think we should get together in that circumstance: it sounds like a very worthy party, and company. 🙂
