@why@kaliranya some would argue that steam sales aren't as good as they were years ago even to now and could be seen as decline or valve being more greedy, but i wasn't on pc gaming around that time so i'm not sure. i guess another reason is that the quality of video games weren't as good/fun as they were like 10 or 20 years ago. that also seems true but that's not really a fault of steam and more of vidya as a whole- but it can definitely be felt on steam.
@tk he's making the crucial mistake of thinking that "mastodon" is exactly the same as twitter, where people congregate on (e-)celebs's replies for attention- rather than it being organically found by each other reposting on things that are actually worth getting too.
@hj@coolboymew that's not the case. there's hardly any unqiue characters in post-super paper mairo games besides mario, bowser, peach and the throw-away-navi. there's no side characters, setting fodder or even comedic throwaways. It's literally just;
@coolboymew@hj "why does our rpg series based around meet funny and unique characters suddenly not having funny and unique characters not gain any interest anymore? guess we gotta kill the series and make cardboard games now"
@coolboymew@hj yeah the last good paper mario games is 19 years old, approaching 20. super paper mario wasn't even a rpg, just a platformer with quasi-rpg elements.
@meowski@KitlerIs6@bot@Moon@animeirl who'da thought that corporates directly trying to change teaching materials regarding food and health safety wouldnt be the best for citizens?
