@freemo
Concentration of wealth has more to do with the autocratic mechanisms allowed to exist in government than it does the economic landscape of the society. That’s why Russia (under the Tsars and under Putin) and the USSR all suffer from an oligarch class and why socialism allows economic freedom and mobility in many European countries. Pre Reagan, the USA was a capitalist engine of economic equality, but that administration undermined the basic tenets separating wealth and government, leading to the implementation of Citizens United and the worst of income inequality.
My point being, any economic system can be abused if money is allowed to shape its policies

Housing - Harris is favored over tfg 48% to 34%, no difference was 10% & not sure 8%
Health care - Harris 52% over tfg 32%, no diff 9% & not sure 7%
Food - Harris 47% over tfg 36%, no diff 10% & not sure 7%
Previous polls from this source have been more commonly aligned with favoring #TheFelonyGuy or closer to a tie, so this was refreshing.

Reelecting him is the hard part in your post, I just don’t see it happening at this point, and he has been a great President. He should hand the baton off to VP Harris and enjoy many years of retirement, knowing he saved democracy. During the debate, he screwed up. One bad episode. The follow-up to remedy the debate performance was poorly executed, and ineffective. The polls haven’t moved much because most folks have decided they are for or against #TheFelonyGuy but with Harris, I believe we will win overwhelmingly. People want a choice that isn’t between two old men and those turned off by a women of color are MAGAts, anyway. No excuse for Biden if the Republicans beat him, I don’t care if he thinks it’s okay to lose as long as he gives it his all, the rest of us matter, too.

I’m voting for anyone who can beat #TheFelonyGuy, I will vote for Biden if he’s on the ticket, but after seeing his performance in the debate and his team try to recover from that debacle, I hope he will decide that America would be better served by him stepping down and supporting VP Harris.
It maybe was one bad night, but the follow up has been confused and gas lighting mixed in with ego and missteps. He is a great man, has done great things, but if he stays in he will erase that record and replace it with one that will forever leave him soiled with the end of democracy. Instead of clinging to power, he should support VP Harris. -

Earlier here on Mastodon, I read the quote attributed to Will Rodgers about how people learn, that one will profit from reading about an issue, a few will learn from observation, but that most will need to piss on the electric fence themselves. My observation is that tfg is the piss on the fence type, and so far he has never faced any consequences for it, so it’s unsurprising that he is still so ignorant.

Israel has never acknowledged it, but it is fairly well established that they have nuclear weapons. Lindsay Graham is just incredibly ignorant. And such an ass kisser, I’d be embarrassed as hell if I lived in South Carolina and had him representing me. -

Had to laugh at that line about “Women in leadership create chaos”Just the recent history of the House, where Nancy Pelosi ran a tight ship that secured Biden’s agenda passed through the previous Congress, and this Congress whose Speaker couldn’t get our bills paid or budget passed without help from the opposition, then got fired and a new guy who is unable to support our allies without being threatened by his own rw extremists.
How much chaos when led by a women versus two men? Lmfao.
They live in an alternate reality devoid of facts

Another question, prompted by concerns voiced by earlier posters worried that the SC might side with tfg and give him a pass because the say POTUS has immunity.
Would Biden then be able order a military strike on Mar-a-lago? If that’s a yes, then maybe this will all work out okay. 😂 -

Say you were an indigenous people reclaiming your homeland, and the people dislodged wouldn’t accept it, vowed to return and destroy you?
Put millions in your backyard, where their neighbors offer to help them overrun you. You fight back and hold your ground. Then those neighbors won’t allow them a place in their home either, so they remain fenced in, sending missiles at you frequently, occasionally launching a strike at your family and beheading your babies. What would you do? -

1/2The Nazis took the Jews to concentration camps and gassed them unless they could work them to death in aid of their war effort. If you cannot see a difference there, it’s because you are being intentionally obtuse. Comparing Gaza to a concentration camp has some validity, treating a population as separate and unequal is also a commonality. But Jews as a group never tried to fight a war to destroy Germany despite Hitler’s rhetoric. -

When I went on strike and saw employees cross my picket line it made me sick (we lost that fight). The only hope working folks have is in solidarity with other workers. It hurts financially and you never get back the wages that are lost. But honoring that picket line benefits working stiffs for years into the future. Now I’m retired, with a pension that employers can’t get their greedy hands on. #HonorLabor #Union #ClassWarfare
