@ryanc Hmm just tried connecting from my Pixel 6a Android phone using JuiceSSH and Termius (had to try the rickroll username and neither would accept empty username) and both unable to establish a connection due to: Unable to exchange encryption keys

I wish laptop manufacturers would make laptops with a small - say 10mins worth - removable battery instead of the honking 4hrs+ ones.

    Why?

I'm guessing most people use their laptops with the power cable connected and so only need the battery if the cable falls out. But keeping it mains powered slowly kills the battery. Lighter, cheaper and more environmentally friendly laptop for the win.

@jwildeboer @neil You can get Mastodon (via the web interface) to email you on every new follower. Since people can't refollow without unfollowing, it shows the pattern Neil describes. If the same name crops up in a short period of time in the subject of emails, you'll probably notice it yourself.

I've got to return my Pixel 6a to Google (running #android 15) under warranty as the USB port is failing. My wife has an identical phone. Android supports multiple profiles.

I thought I could just setup a profile and migrate my data/apps etc across so we could both use bank auth/OTP etc during the time.

But no, you can only migrate/port/restore data to a totally reset ("new") Android device - you cannot restore to a user profile, only "whole phone".

    WTF #Android ?

@GossiTheDog I don't get the "non-permanent employees...must bring in a credit/debit cars" bit. What does that prove? Asking them to bring proof of a recent payment from TFL/affiliates (payslip) would be better. And isn't the hardware they are bringing on to be authorised asset tagged which would count as some sort of proof?

The year is 2031, in the UK TV broadcasts are no longer a thing as it's all streaming now (https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2022/12/broadband-woes-as-bbc-plan-to-switch-off-terrestrial-uk-tv-by-2030.html ), all non-mobile telephony services are VOIP and then something happens to Telehouse North (one of the UK's main internet connection points).

The mobile networks are overwhelmed with everyone switching to using them for everything - and even then, they have problems with unavailable services, failing routing and multiple retries.

    No news availability causes panic...

@BethanyBlack I can see the cup of the carpenter one (with 4 views) and another 2 days ago with 548 views. If they are doing updates your video /may/ still be getting views, but the stats may just be stuck in a backlog getting back to your dashboard (problem with distributed computer systems: you need to deprioritise "non-essential" stuff if there is a problem to allow the main purpose of the system to continue working)
