    Here you go! It's still in very early stages but can reliably remove extra copies of chromosome 21 even in fully differentiated and developed cells. I guess it's not as far along as I thought but this does bode well for treating adults

    @BowsacNoodle @StellaMaris yeah it's an open secret that countries in the EU have screened for down syndrome and basically forcibly aborted babies who have any positive indication for it. Only God knows what other conditions they're doing this with. Most of these screenings were not super accurate up until a few years ago and they still have a very high rate of false positives. Meanwhile just this year a new CRISPr therapy was developed which cures down syndrome and can alleviate most of its symptoms even in adults.
