@65dBnoise @FediThing I believe it is important to have the standard peaceful transfer of power from one President to the next. I agree that Trump should not have been allowed to run, but he was elected by a narrow majority of the voters. I believe we have to follow the standard transfer of power. I wonder if there was a way to avoid the political posturing that is going to be added on, by doing the transfer privately. Then Biden could skip the public ceremony.

@drdrowland @ai6yr The health food store near me (Erewhon) had some eggs yesterday from the organic Vital Farms. It seems like the organic farms are doing better. The prices have gone up but by a smaller percentage than the mass produced eggs.

@shoq I have not seen many of your posts here recently. Maybe I followed too many other accounts and I simply didn’t see them in my timeline. I am also seeing more bridged posts from Bluesky and Threads in the last few months. I have not tried to understand what determines what posts are bridged.

@AlaskaWx @Climatologist49 Thanks for the explanation. I read the temperature at 17 Km as 0 C with the dew point -30 C. The temperature is decreasing with height above about 850 mbars, which is what I expected. The temperature below has that extra cold that Brian mentioned.

@Climatologist49 @AlaskaWx That is very interesting! Here in California, the temperature almost always drops with elevation. I guess Alaska is different.

@iftas I joined Mastodon and the Fediverse two years ago when the ownership of Twitter changed. By the time they opened Bluesky to everyone, I was already happy with Mastodon. I thought about adding a Bluesky account but I don’t want to face the inevitable enshittification in a few years when they decide that they need to make profits.

@wikkit @RagnarHeidar Yes, there are two different hot spots under Iceland and the Azores. Between them is normal mid-ocean ridge with thin crust forming.

@kkarhan @Viss I specifically asked the car dealer if the Mazda had any data connection and he said it did not. It is possible that the hardware is there, but it seems unlikely that they would have put a cellular SIM in the car because they would have to pay for the data service. I am not paying for any data subscription. The car does not have any connection features. I use CarPlay and my iPhone for my data and calling in the car.
