When Twitter was muskified in 2022, I signed up to a number of instances and I thought I'd give them all a try and see which I prefer.

It took me all of five minutes to settle on toot.wales as my Mastodon home which is why I volunteered to be an admin to give something back to this wonderful instance.

There are two more “Tofu eating, Guardian reading” boomers in Cardiff who have never voted Tory and who never will vote Tory.

Two boomers who were horrified when Blair introduced university tuition fees as he’s from our generation who benefited from free tertiary education!

A generation who are blamed for brexshit when we campaigned and voted for Remain!

There is a much more interesting conversation to be had about the “educated” versus the “uneducated” than there is about pitting generations against each other.

Take brexshit…if you must 🤦

Every town or city in the UK with large university communities voted Remain and the number of highly educated people is a much better predictor of voter intentions than age, yet the “red tops” prosper by setting generations against each other.

The generational argument is a distraction!

Having given up on Facebook years ago because of my concerns about privacy, I rarely login now.

From 26 June 2024, Facebook will use your photos, posts, and other info to train its AI.

You can opt out...but Meta has intentionally made it complicated!

To clarify. In Wales, we have the Church in Wales (CiW which was disestablished in the 1920 in the 1914 Church in Wales Act.

Beginning in the 1980s, the CiW embarked on an increasingly open stand on various issues including economic justice, the ordination of women and inclusion of homosexual people which makes the CiW significantly more liberal than the CoE.

The visceral English reaction to us leaving reminds me of someone clinging on to a relationship which long ago became toxic to both parties, but one half is hanging onto the legs of the other as they try to leave the house to start a new and better life 🤷
