@jeffowski I know they love & appreciate me, they have been polite (mostly) towards me, some now joking that I am the only liberal in town, even to the point where they actually apologise to me when they express opinions they know I find abhorrent (which weirdly I find quite endearing because I know it comes from the respect the have for me) but I just can't be around it anymore, so I have decided to move to a more progressive community (hopefully) to run out the clock. It saddens me immensely.

@jeffowski this is a little close to my experience. I live in a very conservative area, my friends, family & acquaintances are all conservative, some leaning towards the far right, I love the people I have grown up with, I have lived here since birth (over 40 years) but I have made the decision to leave them all behind because I can't listen to their opinions & attitudes anymore, I tried to talk to them & find out why they hold these opinions, but after 10 years of speaking up I am exhausted.

@br00t4c if there is wrong doing then there needs to be punishment, it's as simple as that, a war of words in the media is not necessary, labour just need to be seen to be doing what is right, not covering for potential cronyism and even corruption, that should only be the preserve of the Tory party...

@br00t4c blimey, I didn't think there'd be anything that could ever be said that would encourage me to support Trump, but here we are...

@br00t4c that's how he won last time, well that and the electoral college. He tried to do it with Biden and it was working, but Joe did the right thing by removing himself from the equation, that may well go down as the single reason that Trump loses the election. Well & that Kamala & Tim are pretty decent candidates as well, that has helped...
