@admin @VisualStuart When libertarians start by talking about the importance of freedom, they win me, but when they scramble to justify a lack of positive liberties through callous disregard for the material conditions of the poor, they lose me. They completely fail on regulatory issues. Historically capitalists have only ever voluntarily self-regulated for the purpose of externalizing costs and creating barriers to competition.

@mattwilcox I also don't fully understand all of the anxiety around fraudulent voting. I doubt asylum seekers are actively out trying to defraud elections while avoiding ICE. I think it would be an interesting system that had open borders and allowed international stakeholders to participate in their elections.

@BeAware I canceled my account a few weeks ago. Mainly due to the fact that Musk is enabling all of these far-right accounts to be racist trolls while banning everyone I like and flagging/limiting my own account, but to stay anymore is to prove you're a Musk sycophant.

@KevinMarks If they just analyzed money in our economy based upon velocity and taxed heavily the lowest velocity sources of money (hoarded uninvested savings), that alone would probably launch our economy into double digit growth.

Guess that's one service I'll never be using.

@AnthonyJK I applied for SSI from 2001 through 2017 and was denied repeatedly for my Schizoaffective disorder. More annoyingly my mom died when I was 8 and I was due survivors benefits that the SSA never paid. It took me years to get it. What finally made the difference was getting a doctor who documented everything and exactly how it made it impossible for me to work. I wish you the best. I know how hard it can be.

@AnarchoNinaWrites As a broke cracker, I can also say I'd literally vote for Joseph Stalin right now. What the liberals don't get is I am sympathetic to the plight of immigrants and minorities, but I also need low-income housing and good schools in my neighborhood too.

@Sibshops @BeAware Yeah, not to be gross, but it was specifically an anon account I was using to share SDXL content I was generating. It was all legal content, noting cringe, but I think they don't trust the medium yet and instead of being adult about it and talking to me, they just permabanend me out of nowhere. I get they don't want to be a legal test case, but simulated content is only unlawful if it doesn't pass the moral sniff test. If it's clearly consenting adults you should be fine.

@Sibshops @BeAware I did have a little problem with nannyism when I was using other people's servers. They like to swing their weight around and apply their TOS capriciously, banning accounts with little warning and no clear path back to being a user in good standing. Like anything, if it really comes down to it, don't be a serf in a fiefdom, just start your own instance. Since I've done that I've had zero issues. Feel like some of these admins treat it like a personal HOA.

@BeAware I briefly worked helpdesk at a community college and I'd be cautious too. The older ones don't even have the play store and the newer ones seem to have absurdly low system resources. Some of them have 2-4gb ram. What are you doing with that exactly?

@BeAware And that's the reason I got pushed off of twitter. I always try to follow a lot of people so I can see what people have to say. It's apparently against Twitters TOS. They consider it platform manipulation. I'm just tired of the nannyism personally. Freedom of Speech? We don't even have the freedom to use most of these platforms the way we'd like to or freedom not to be monitored and have our data sold. Speech is the least of my concerns in the present day.

@BeAware @Imperor I especially enjoy the sandbox mode, which is unfortunately behind a subscription wall. I find the base game's enemies way too spongy and ammo too rare.
