@Eiregoat@sickburnbro Do you know how much a billion dollars is? Methinks you don't m8. My point is I am not hostile to profit but this notion of paying poor wages to grind out more profit, why are we ok with this?
@TactlessWookie@Eiregoat@sickburnbro I understand the concern but go through this thread and read my interlocutors points. Its straight billionaire approved talking points. Remember all I said was any business posting billion dollar profits (by definition) afford to pay proper wages you can live on. We have just been beaten over the head with this idea that if don't grind employees down for the purpose of more profit. Why are we ok with that?
@wing_str@TactlessWookie@Eiregoat@sickburnbro I would phrase it differently because I still see the statement of "too much profit" as just one more billionaire approved talking point. How about "profit skimmed off the labor of our employees?" Or "Profit stolen from our employees?"
I used to write about immigration and every phrase people used painted invaders in a sympathetic light or denigrated anyone who resisted to overwhelming of this nation by invaders.
As I said much earlier in this thread I am not even a little hostile to science the problem comes in when science tries to provide meaning and context which it is notoriously bad at almost as bad as when it guesses at things. Nuclear weapons will set the atmosphere on fire anyone?
Dear scientists please set things on fire and record the outcome. Thanks civilization.
A. As the sciences become more and more militanrly atheist they must twist science and reality to make their points.
B. As science becomes more militantly atheist it must of necessity become more corrupt and it has to the tune of entire scientific journals closing due to corruption
@Starprophet1@6gorillanbarsofjewsoap@TrevorGoodchild This is far from the only reason for that but it is one. That being said i'm not sure the enlightenment was necessarily good for humans. I'm not at all hostile to science but there is something intrinsic to science (and its practitioners) that wants to remove wonder and reduce us to the status of animals.
@bobbala@6gorillanbarsofjewsoap@Starprophet1@TrevorGoodchild@petra As another example "sciences' war on saturated fats, salt, and cholesterol and eve though the science never proved these positions due to a deadly combination of hubris and profit motive they to this day hate to admit they were wrong.
