The big fat surprise by Nina Teicholz. This is a book written by a female science writer who got detailed to write reviews of fine dining restaurants where she ate very rich food and began to lose weight to her surprise.
The big thing in my humble is to go low carb. We just aren't designed to eat the types and amounts of sugar we eat today. Good luck!
I ate keto for almost a year, but actually got TOO thin, plus I think still had a bit much pasteurized dairy, in addition to whatever else didn't sit quite right... my thyroid got wonky, couldn't conceive baby, & strep bacteria through roof in one pregnancy I did manage with late miscarriage.
I switched to tons of organic produce with no regard to carb counting, nearly no grains, & meat in evenings. Game-changer, personally. Hard to maintain always, though. Also better for women to have HEALTHY carbs, like produce.
America's diet seems to revolve around (the least healthy, too) of grains, usually bleached, & fortified with crap, fake meats, processed dairy & sugar... results as planned 😩 Saturated fat isn't bad. No!
@DC5FAN@GoyGirl@s2208@ChadleyDudebro@tyler@arm_barbarian here in rural Texas, almost everyone is fat. idk, man, what can I tell you. I come from the old school. I was raised to have self-control of my eating. there was a long period when I couldn't quite pull that off, and I weighed almost 180 lbs. the more I progress spiritually, the more I am able to control my belly, altho I have a long way to go there. this has nothing to do with the secular concept of "dieting" but Orthodox fasting helped me to regain health in my relationship to food. we fell from God's grace through a refusal to abstain from certain foods.
@DC5FAN@GoyGirl@s2208@ChadleyDudebro@tyler@arm_barbarian husband says he misses the bigger booty I had when I was chonkier but ... I looked TERRIBLE in my clothes. it was so hard to dress my figure at a size 14 so I looked acceptable. a smaller booty looks one million percent more chic in clothes (at my age I am not showing significant skin in public ever again)
I don't mind chonking really, even if hubs picked on me for that, too (I'm allowed a 6-lb window at 5'3"), but 500+ calories nursing & constant slinging of 2 under 2 yrs SHOULD thin most women out...
I've lost my abs. No amount of situps or core work seems to bring them back. Wifey negs me about it, touches my tummy and asks "what happened here?" So I grab her ass and say, "same thing that happened here."
Lol. I get too thin in peak baby/nursing times (this time unplanned & coupled with a wiley toddler, too). But I plan on chonking again in a year or so to spite him.
There's likely something to this. Hubs has lifted religiously at least twice weekly since teens & he's definitely dad-bod'ed some, but should weigh 300 lbs for how he eats 🙄
