I wouldn’t feel like it was anything personal, he probably promised his wife a marriage ceremony in a specific place and knew it wouldn’t be feasible to fly everyone out. I don’t like big weddings, tbh. People get so caught up in the theatricality of it that they forget what it means. It isn’t the happy ending of a movie, it’s the beginning of a difficult journey. Just like Fatherhood isn’t the beginning of your story, but the ending and epilogue.

Next thing you know, developers and investors start destroying the view by building fucking condos and HOAs to house these worthless fucking parasites. Then there’s enough of them demographically concentrated that they start changing your laws. “I don’t like hearing roosters in the morning! I’m concerned that my neighbors carry guns everywhere! We don’t have enough haitians represented in OUR (lol) community!”
Remember that it all starts under the cover of “tourism.” Then “economy,” then “tax revenue.” WE DON’T NEED FUCKING TOURISTS. GO THE FUCK HOME WHERE YOU BELONG, COCKROACH.

The ”shadow form” is just a visual artifact of the technology they use to convert visible-spectrum light into IR/UV. It’s effective, but not perfect. The photoreceptors (rod cells) in the corners of your visual field can sometimes pick up on movement and photoreact with those frequencies.
During my sleep paralysis I would see the tall shadows moving around my bed and hear the sound of my desk fan get muffled as they’d pass in front of it.
