I wouldn’t feel like it was anything personal, he probably promised his wife a marriage ceremony in a specific place and knew it wouldn’t be feasible to fly everyone out. I don’t like big weddings, tbh. People get so caught up in the theatricality of it that they forget what it means. It isn’t the happy ending of a movie, it’s the beginning of a difficult journey. Just like Fatherhood isn’t the beginning of your story, but the ending and epilogue.
