Analyzing a situation is different than finding a scapegoat. It's not about finding the thing the the past that didn't go your way, it's about figuring out how to go forward. Both require understanding what went wrong, but blaming doesn't win the next election. We need actual plans to move forward

I just recently got into a big debate with some anarchists on masto about whether they should vote or not. Interesting to hear how conflicted the community seems about it in today's environment where voting is under attack.

I just checked and Mastodon does have a whitelist mode instances can use of they really want control over their data.

"This mode is intended for private use only, such as in academic institutions or internal company networks, as it effectively creates a data silo, which is contrary to Mastodon's mission of decentralization. This setting was known as WHITELIST_MODE prior to 3.1."
