moved to 6.14 and it's done a similar but different thing with my CPU performance. the original freq used to settle at 400mhz idle and now it's 1500mhz idle... BUT the actual usage has flatlined because I figure it's just doing all of the work at 1500mhz and never needs to boost?

that's so strange but cool.. wonder how that benchmarks (I need more time)

There are a cohort of fediverse fans that think any change to the fediverse that doesn't grow the number is evil...

Building some kind of shared services, multi-tenanted instances or any kind of de-duplication to lower the total cost of ownership or limiting wasted resources (power, storage, bandwidth, etc) will get you yelled at for "centralising the fediverse".

John Oliver's Last Week Tonight mentions #Mastodon and #PixelFed as alternatives that are "not as desperate to fall in line with trump".

As somebody who isn't a coder, I cannot thank @dansup enough for taking the time to listen and work with me on a "akismet for the fediverse" concept today.

I wrote a short pitch for "FediThreat: Federated Threat Intelligence Service - IP/Email/URL reputation service"

and Dan has completed a POC. This concept has been in my head for 7 years but I just didn't have the ability to code it.... So this is something I'm looking forward to maintaining once it's online operationally to try and help our mods from dealing with spam.....
