Hi fedi travelers (or residents), a would appreciate a little advice; I'm going to a meeting in #Barcelona, lots of science but also enough free time that I want to wander around. Where should I go and where MUST I go?

I have tickets for a tour of Sagrada Familia, I want to see the Miro foundation and the Museu d'Arqueologia de #Catalunya so I guess I should have gotten a hotel closer to Montjuic mountain right?

What I really like is history; #Roman, #Islamic and actually ancient. Any ideas? I'm staying near the convention center and my knees suck. Also I don't speak #Catelan or Spanish really, I've been listening to coffee break #Espanol for a month but it's sticking well.

I had a revelation moment with that song. My mom and dad put my siblings and I to bed when we were little to a record player playing one side of an LP every night. Either a musical, Tom Lehrer or The Kingston Trio (we didn't have a lot of records). I memorized every song on all of those records before I was 12 and still know them.

When I was 24 or so I moved to Boston, discovered that Scollay Square Station was now Government Center but then remembered the lyrics;
"Charlie's wife goes down to the Scollay Square station every day at quarter past two and through the open window she hands Charlie a sandwich as the train goes a rumblin' through!"

And it occurred to me that she could have just handed him a T coin so that he could come home......

When I'm putting together updates for my "How AI Works" module I'm all over #RetractionWatch because they're amazing. Here's an example that I'll use in spring semester for how the curation step of #MachineLearning is at least as important as the math itself;

Stop pretending like there may be any honesty in this administration, they are not governing in good faith at any time. They hate education and fear educated people and this is an example. They would be happy to institute Gilead and the press should stop acting like that's not true.

I read that exchange and blocked, the posting style is very similar to the folks over at babka who tried to get me fired for anti-Semitism by contacting the university I work for. The reason? I said that Palestinians are human beings. That's it.
