Yeah, that's the worst thing about migrating mastodon servers. Losing posts.

Also, good reasons I chose to self-host Hubzilla. I'm not really blocked by anyone (that I know of). Nomadic identity and cloning account on different server in the event mine crashes.

For some reason, my hubzilla account can't connect to your account.... are you running pleroma? I think they have compatibility issues.

Anyways....I will check out Slackware. I may have tried that out once in my early distrohopping days. 😀

People get stuck thinking they only have a local Timeline and end up creating 3 or 4 different accounts.

That's probably true. I think if the use of different servers could be explained better, the rest of the explanations wouldn't be needed as much. That seems to be the hardest thing to understand.
