@pawoo_support Good news, since account creation now requires moderator approval, that means contact-spam offenders will no longer be able to create bot accounts to spam-follow other instances’ users or flood the federated timelines. & pedophiles also will no longer be able to create bot accounts to spam their illegal content or get Pawoo defederated by other instances.

@Fishbed If by pedo concentration you mean NNIA & its federated cronies, then yes, it’s still up because they’re using (mostly-non-USA-based) foreign hosting providers that either refuse to cooperate with USA law enforcement or resort to some very-elaborate mental gymnastics & elitist loopholes to circumvent legal scrutiny, like what @hj suggested when mentioning “elites engaging in pedophilia”.

@Fishbed Pretty sure Baraag & Aethy (two Western instances based in USA) together have more loli/shota than Pawoo & Misskey combined, given neither Baraag nor Aethy applies Japan’s censorship laws (something despised by every L/S consoomer –both Western & Eastern– & despised even more by the pedos at NNIA, Youjo, FreakU, etc.) Even I dare to say post-Elon-Musk Twitter has more L/S than Pawoo.

@hj Also to everyone’s surprise, there are Japanese anti-loli people. After all, the original draft of the 2014 act that sought to ban child porn in Japan also sought to ban loli & shota (no word about cub porn though), but then certain mangakas, otakus, & maybe even some yakuza complained about it & somehow forced the Diet politicians’ hand into reaching the compromise that Japan has right now. OK, then what is your username there? (in my DMs if you don’t want to post it in public)? & if you don’t like Discord, then what is your preferred alternative?

For context: I do still use Discord & it’s what I use the most because the vast majority of my friends either refuse to adopt Matrix or Telegram or instead adopted anything else that I don’t use & don’t plan to use (Guilded, Revolt, XMPP, IRC, etc.)

& in the specific case of Pawoo: even after the Pawoo admins increased their crackdown on pedo shit (up to the point of banning various hashtags, mostly thanks to my own reports against such accounts) & this month alone did upgrade their Mastodon software (briefly locking me out because of a 2FA-related glitch on their part), the majority (if not all) of the #Fediblock-preaching instance admins choose instead to double down on keeping Pawoo blocked.

In such cases where only a tiny fraction commit digital crimes, rather than blocking whole instances, they should either only block media attachments (refuse to cache them while still letting text go through) or do like @p & block only specific users from such instances so that only that tiny guilty fraction pays the consequences of their own actions without dragging along the innocents into the mud that is #Fediblock drama.

One of the things I hate of this #fediblock is that some instances are added to the blocklist merely because of the actions of a tiny minority of users in such instances, i.e.: few Westerners posting nazism on Mstdn.jp (dominated by Japanese); weebs posting loli on Misskey.io (even though not all users there are lolicons); or pedos posting CP here on Pawoo (fact: pedos comprise a tiny fraction here, plus they often get banned by reports & their CP removed).
