    I'm taking a mini vacation at the beach, and around here there are a bunch of wandering salesmen, selling handmade items: sundresses, straw hats, and, more rarely... knifes.

    I bought two handcrafted cleavers from a guy earlier today. One of them is a regular, weighty cleaver, and the other one is smaller and more rounded and works like a Santoku knife.
    Both are made from plow disks, which are made from a high carbon steel that holds the edge a lot better than regular steel. They are also made from a single metal piece that goes all the way through the handle, have handles made from real wood and come in leather sheats (real leather, not PU or whatever other fake plastic shit manufacturers use nowadays).
    Honestly, they are higher quality than some fancy "chef knifes" I bought a few years back, and they cost only around 40 bucks for the two pieces.

    @lina to be fair, if you are playing alone, balance should be the last of your issues, so HotA is pretty useless unless you are either playing online against other people (which is kinda boring because people always play the same templates with the same factions) or training to play online.

    @lina I remember there used to be a time in the online HoMM 3 community where one of the "community rules" used for online matches was banning Diplo (alongside both Necropolis and Necromancy).

    Nowadays, it seems that with Horn of the Abyss, both diplo and necro are a bit more balanced, so they are fair play.

    @lina @grips heh, I watched the first 2 in the theater because some friends invited me. They are pretty fun, tbh, but the spergs treat it like a masterpiece of the modern world.


    Although, to be fair, considering the crap that is being constantly put out by Hollywood, the Sonic movies really are some of the best things that came to theaters in the last 10 years, so I can't really blame them for sperging so much about it.

    @lina @waifu people pirate Windows since 3.11, and as much as Microsoft does that song and dance about "the ebul pirates", they enjoy it, because piracy was what kept Windows at a billion % marketshare. I actually wouldn't put past it Microsoft itself "leaking" the pirated versions to help train people who will demand Windows machines in the workplace.

    And the spyware aspect is getting worse day by day. My company-issued laptop runs Windows, and these past few weeks I was forced to use it more (I tend to use my home desktop for work, but I'm not at home), and that copilot thing already started working, it seems, and shit is absolutely scary. These fuckers are literally screenshoting and recording everything you do, even if my machine doesn't have a NPU (which, according to Microsoft, was a prereq for it to work so it could be done locally), I still can push a button and Windows will show me screens with documents, pictures and web pages I opened weeks ago, and tell me what they are so "I can find what I'm looking for easier".

    Honestly, I've been considering getting permission from my manager to wipe out Windows and install openSuse or something like that instead.

    @lina @Kerosene well, you're only learning about them now. Many people already knew them. Sounds like a "you" issue.

    They were all done by Microsoft Japan, for advertisements and merchandise there, so they are, obviously, most known there. And they were done only for Windows 7 to 10, there is no "Windows 11 tan". Probably because Windows 11 is not sold in boxed editions for domestic customers anymore, so having a marketing campaign directed to them like it happened with 7-10 doesn't make much sense.
