the one thing I hate the most about most Fediverse platforms is how it's all "you can migrate your account, you're free, yay" but the ONE thing you can't migrate it's your posts, which is the MAIN thing!!! it amazes me how after all this time Mastodon and the like didn't solve this problem (and it seems like it's not even a priority, at least in the Mastodon camp). :AAAAAA:

it's not like it's impossible, tho, since Hubzilla it's fully capable of it, for example.

@anna that is also true in the FLOSS space, even in the Fediverse (the obvious difference from Big Tech being the possibility to fork and adapt). but still, Mastodon devs REFUSE year after year to listen to their non-white non-Global-North users when it comes to safety tooling in the software, for example. it is a descentralized federated free and libre open-source network but is still being originated by Global North people, their social notions and limited worldviews, and that is very problematic.

@dansup I searched the github repos for Vernissage and they don't credit Pixelfed/you as far as I could see. I also ended up seeing an issue topic where they make fun of you as a person while discussing federation hiccups in Vernissage, which was shocking to me, so petty and childish, geez.

too many people talking as if Mastodon and the Fediverse were synonyms, when talking about the horrible new Masto UI and yet another update in which the devs refuse to listen to the users (specially non-white users). yes, Mastodon is the biggest software in the Fediverse, in servers and users, but it's far from being the only option.

I'm considering other similar Fediverse software to replace Mastodon as my main social media thingy. suggestions are welcome. #FediHelp
