@sun@birdulon@not_benis I am currently looking for a usb numpad for my laptop kit, because a full-size keyboard won't fit properly in the bag. However, I recently discovered that I installed https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.guillaumepayet.remotenumpad/ on my fone a while ago and forgot about it. So as soon as I get bluetooth drivers on my laptop I will find out if it is good enough for use. Mainly that use would be wc3, which I haven't got working yet anyway. Something about wine vs wayland.
I am designing a game about crewing ships and battling each other, with some sort of basic pve mode. I am looking at a distribution structure like... You buy a ship box (3-8 seats, maybe $30AUD-$50AUD) and a character box (8 characters, ~$10AUD) and then either another ship (and maybe characters) or a pve box (~$10AUD). And then the idea is that you can go as big as you want, if you want to put 40 people in a game and play 8 ships against each other, you can do that. Characters would not be coupled directly to ships; each character would fill a role that each ship would have 1 or more of (3-seat ships excepted, since I'm planning four roles). Would you consider the pricing, specifically having to buy multiple boxes, unreasonable?
@gnarley_boot@Tactical@trumpgpt@realman543 I strongly recommend Spirit Island. Jagged Earth adds support for 5-6 players (base game is 1-4). Operation Flashpoint is probably my second-favourite co-op game and it's a bit too simple for good co-op. Although I have only played Zombicide once or twice, I should get that maybe. Also highly recommend Tragedy Looper for 4p specifically; it can work with 2 or 3 but it's not as good. Also you have to be careful about not looking at the mastermind cards... Until you get into writing your own scripts. Pity that tragedylooperscripts.com is gone. Wingspan is good for a while but kinda gets boring. I haven't tried 6-7p mode added in Asia expansion, because I got Earth shortly after which I think solves the problem much more elegantly. Terraforming Mars has a decent amount of replayability too, and it's fun engine-building shenanigans.
In the line of chess I recommend Sirlin's Chess 2. Truthfully, I haven't played it, but "memorising openings is boring, let's have 36 possible opening matchups" and "chasing an obviously losing player's king around the board is boring, let's just have you win if you get your king on his side" are both pretty good opinions.
More of Sirlin (who also made an excellent fighting game, but that's irrelevant to this topic)... Puzzle Strike is basically peak deckbuilder. Puzzle Strike 2 was a bit of a letdown by comparison, but still decent enough. Yomi... I didn't like much when I played it. Now that I understand fighting games maybe I will like it. Sirlin insists that it's good even for people who know nothing of fighting games but I'm not sure I believe it. Pandante is an actual game based on Texas Hold 'Em, and I am absolute dogshit at it. Probably all of these are hard to come by, you may have to buy second-hand or print your own, good luck figuring out where the pnp assets are squirrelled away... I think on sirlingames.com.
@realman543@gnarley_boot@Tactical@trumpgpt Ah, I mean the Sirlin games are hard to come by. The others are more readily available, but you probably will have to get it on order from LGS. But also there is a vassal module for it.
@domodak@djsumdog I've taken to using "service" extensively to refer to things that may or may not be accessed via the web. I hadn't actually noticed it was in this image until I checked just now.
@domodak@djsumdog >Wattpad My strongest memory of that is seeing some guy spamming tenor gifs and someone saying "why is tenor always such cancer", and I didn't really understand. Then it got integrated into dicksore and I understood within the hour.
@Crux_Invictus@Shadowman311@BowsacNoodle It is reasonable to assume that visions of the future, involving technology of the likes unimaginable, will have some creative descriptions of it. Like the idea that the mark of the beast is the vaxx is not entirely far-fetched, I'm not sure if needles were a thing back then but they would be very different now anyway. However, "right hand or forehead" is very different to "right arm".
