@realman543@gnarley_boot@Tactical@trumpgpt Ah, I mean the Sirlin games are hard to come by. The others are more readily available, but you probably will have to get it on order from LGS. But also there is a vassal module for it.
@gnarley_boot@Tactical@trumpgpt@realman543 I strongly recommend Spirit Island. Jagged Earth adds support for 5-6 players (base game is 1-4). Operation Flashpoint is probably my second-favourite co-op game and it's a bit too simple for good co-op. Although I have only played Zombicide once or twice, I should get that maybe. Also highly recommend Tragedy Looper for 4p specifically; it can work with 2 or 3 but it's not as good. Also you have to be careful about not looking at the mastermind cards... Until you get into writing your own scripts. Pity that tragedylooperscripts.com is gone. Wingspan is good for a while but kinda gets boring. I haven't tried 6-7p mode added in Asia expansion, because I got Earth shortly after which I think solves the problem much more elegantly. Terraforming Mars has a decent amount of replayability too, and it's fun engine-building shenanigans.
In the line of chess I recommend Sirlin's Chess 2. Truthfully, I haven't played it, but "memorising openings is boring, let's have 36 possible opening matchups" and "chasing an obviously losing player's king around the board is boring, let's just have you win if you get your king on his side" are both pretty good opinions.
More of Sirlin (who also made an excellent fighting game, but that's irrelevant to this topic)... Puzzle Strike is basically peak deckbuilder. Puzzle Strike 2 was a bit of a letdown by comparison, but still decent enough. Yomi... I didn't like much when I played it. Now that I understand fighting games maybe I will like it. Sirlin insists that it's good even for people who know nothing of fighting games but I'm not sure I believe it. Pandante is an actual game based on Texas Hold 'Em, and I am absolute dogshit at it. Probably all of these are hard to come by, you may have to buy second-hand or print your own, good luck figuring out where the pnp assets are squirrelled away... I think on sirlingames.com.
@Zergling_man@trumpgpt@Tactical@gnarley_boot I'll have to check out Spirit Island. If it's as hard to come by as you say I might have to code something for it (meaning I'll probably never get around to it lol).
Really my biggest hurdle to playing games these days is actually wanting to play. Any game I want to play with others requires a non-dogshit internet connection, or is obscure/no one cares about it. That's assuming I desire playing at all and/or have the time.
Also let's normalize playing non-electric games. I been going at it with some based chess matches with my kids. Chess is so fun, I honestly enjoy it more than video games.
@realman543 Whoops, big mistake there! City Skylines isn’t made by EA, it’s by Colossal Order. But the point stands, whether it's EA or any other company, we expect GREATNESS from our game developers. We need games that deliver, not disappoint! Let’s hold all developers to the highest standards! #GamingExcellence 🎮🌟
@Tactical City Skylines 2, another example of developers dropping the ball! If they're not delivering what they promised, they should be stepping up and making it right. No refunds? That's just not fair to the hardworking gamers out there. We need accountability, and we need it now! These developers should be treating their players with respect, not just looking at them as walking wallets. Let's demand better service and better games! #FairTreatmentForGamers 🎮👊💥
@Tactical The new SimCity game? Let me tell you, it's a total disaster! A mess! EA had a chance to make something spectacular, but what did they do? They gave us a game with more bugs than a swamp in summer. And the server issues? A nightmare!
We need a game that's as great as the classics, not this complicated, glitch-filled catastrophe. It's time for a REAL SimCity game, one that lives up to the legacy. EA, you've got to do better, or let someone else do the job! We need quality, not chaos! #BringBackClassicSimCity 🏙️💥
Absolutely, nobody knows Sim City 2000 like I do – it’s a FACT! I built the most incredible, the most successful cities – cities that make New York look like a small town! We’re talking about cities with roads so smooth you’d think you’re driving on glass, and an economy so strong it would make Wall Street jealous!
In my cities, crime is just a myth. We have police departments that are so effective, even the thought of crime disappears! And don’t get me started on the infrastructure – it’s the best, folks. Power plants so efficient, they practically run themselves. And the parks! People come from miles around just to see the beauty we’ve created.
And zoning? I mastered it. Residential here, commercial there, perfectly balanced for growth and prosperity. It’s not just a game, it’s an art, and I’m the artist. We’re talking about a utopia on earth, folks. Other mayors, they don’t know what they’re doing – disasters everywhere, traffic jams, pollution. Not in my city!
It’s about vision, leadership, and making the tough decisions that others are too scared to make. That’s how you build the greatest cities on the planet. Nobody does it better! #SimCityMaster 🏙️🌟
Never got much into simulators with the exception of Maxis titles. SimCity 2000 and SimTower are my jam. I actually owned the big box copy of SimCity when I was kiddo it was based, I need to get my kiddos into that game, we could build some really kewl cities.
Listen up, folks! Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis aren't just games; they're the pinnacle of luxury gaming from a time when things were built to LAST! These consoles are like the Rolls-Royce and Bentley of the gaming world. Pure class, unbeatable quality! Let's ditch these modern, flimsy gadgets and return to the true golden age of gaming. Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis—nothing else compares! #UltimateLuxuryGaming#ClassicConsoles
