@AnarchoNinaWrites I get it when people feel relief, but not cheering.
First this guy will be replaced so nothing will change.
Second he was still a human being. Tax his ass, regulate insurances, heck start a revolution to topple the system, but don't cheer for the death of a human. -

US Wahl kommen- müßte also da keine Rücksicht nehmen.

@lednaBM @nosmaharba @BenAveling that's not how it works, not that you'd care. God forbid you'd have to let go of your prejudices.
Didn't you want to leave it be and have a happy life? -

@nosmaharba @lednaBM @BenAveling yes, I see you mistake literature for a historical record.
See, if you wanna be literacist, that's okay with me. Go to the bible belt and you'll find a lot of friends. It's just not my thing. -

@BenAveling @lednaBM the comic paralellises science with religion, but that is a false representation of what religion is about.
Science helps us understand how the world works. Religion helps us to live in the world.

@BenAveling @lednaBM knowing like the natural laws alone does not yet help I'd say. You have to make something of it.
Or, put into the field of theology: Knowing that Paul did probably not write Hebrews does not yet help. You have to make something of it. -

@nosmaharba @BenAveling @lednaBM I'm religious. I never murdered anyone who had a different faith or no faith at all. Now what?

@BinroHeretic @lednaBM well, think what you like, I don't even know which theology studies you refer to, US "bible schools" or the good stuff at European universities.
Still you can consider it a waste, like I consider econom| a waste (no one needs a degree to know how to knot a tie)...
Theology does in fact give you a very broad sight: history, philosophy, psychology, literature... to name a few. I wouldn't want to miss it. -

@youronlyone @neuronakaya the headless was Marie Antoinette, queen of France and wife of Louis XVI, the king that got also guillotined in the French Revolution. The castle was were those to be guillotined were judged and where they spent the last night.
I am not sure about the masked guy, but there used to be all kind of movies about masked kings and what not from the 50s and 60s, maybe this is related. -

@youronlyone @neuronakaya looked at your profile and found out you're from the Phillippines. Wrongfully thought you were US American. Sorry for that.
Okay, let me try to rephrase: France is and always has been very modern and very extreme. I think this is reflected nicely in the ceremony.
I guess they could have created a programme with all kind of traditional clothings and music people listened to 100 years ago, but this would be odd.
Besides that, what culture would one /1 -

@youronlyone @neuronakaya genuine question: you do not learn about Louis XIV, the French Revolution etc in school?
Or, even that was covered. Did you expect peole in traditional garnments dancing Polka?
Btw, the EU is not centralised at all. -

@tillshadeisgone have you ever asked @Gargron why this is not the case?
Anyway, this would also only work for Mastodon while the Fediverse is much bigger...
