Watch and listen to my friend historian Xiao Chua. It is indeed important to note that pre-colonial Philippines had its own writing system which is a sign of a civilization. Hence why it was the Spaniards who adjusted to learn our language. Filipino intelligence is seen in our great Austronesian maritime expansion and language. #Philippines#SoutheastAsia#TootSEA#ASEAN#Austronesian
My Japanese client rejected my graphic designs and when I looked at his own designs, I realized his design preference is from the 1980s. It's hard for young artists to work with the older Japanese generation because Japanese old people are used to 80s tech and design.
I think Japanese society has already reached its peak. Young people don't have long term goals, and Japan hasn't been innovative for decades. But young people from China and ASEAN are very ambitious and motivated. Enthusiastic people in the global south just need capital. Because I can really see the enthusiasm of young people in the global south in fixing their countries' problems. There's also a growing patriotism.
I was expecting to see French traditions from #Olympic2024 but instead I'm seeing pop and metal. This is so 2024. Looks fun but it's so chaotic. So many things are happening. I'm confused. 🫨 #Paris2024
There are times when I feel so scared to speak out my opinions. I will never want to be labeled as far-right or far-left, but anything you say that gets viral these days can be interpreted as far-right or far-left. I just want to contribute, have a good job, and fun life.
Actually, this isn't unique to Filipinos. People from all cultures enjoy familiar flavors, even if they know the local version might be more authentic. It's like comparing family recipes – there's always a curiosity about how others do it, even if yours is the best. 😉
Filipinos have a thing for seeking out familiar flavors abroad. Some people crave a taste of home, a connection to their identity while living in a foreign country. It's like a little piece of the #Philippines wherever they are. Others might do it out of patriotism, a way to support Filipino products even overseas.
I created a new account for an org and now I have to pay so I can post. Social media isn't free now. Are there no other ways to stop or reduce the bots without asking people to pay? X is for free speech but X isn't free? 😔
A few days from now, my brain will be fully developed which means I will be an adult who has to be politically correct all of the time. Horror. My youth is about to end.
@youronlyone Sorry but I'm betting more on the ASEAN than Japan-Korea-Philippines. We have closer cultural and political ties with other ASEAN nations.
Japan has a stagnant economy for 3 decades and it will continue. Korea only has a soft power via entertainment. ASEAN is the fastest growing economy for a region. Indonesia is already becoming an economic power in the top 4.
SEA is the most vulnerable to climate change and economic growth that would produce innovation should be our priority.
Opinion: Only The Philippines still has a strong relation with the US in Southeast Asia. While I'm not against this, I don't like that the US is forcing other ASEAN nations to pick between China and US. It only pushes them further. In the end, Philippines would still side with ASEAN as it is its priority and as one of the founders. Don't even try to separate Philippines from ASEAN! #tootSEA
This is a prime example of over-praising Japan that doesn't go along with facts. Japan is always used as a tool by people so they can have a country to fantasize about. Not even the strongest passport.
@liztai I'm actually optimistic about the economic growth of ASEAN nations. There are plenty of problems in these nations but I believe they continue to improve.
My monthly allowance now is half of what it was in high school. I can see my family's financial struggles, and now that I'm an adult, I'm working and studying at the same time to maintain my education. I hope that we can still hold on to optimism.
Japan's GDP has been declining for over 30 years. It has been performing poorly in comparison to China. We no longer hear about new tech innovations from the country, and cities are becoming dirtier and more crime-ridden. Everything now costs less for tourists but more for locals. I think Japan as we knew is no longer the same. In my view, it's becoming poorer. People in Japan are becoming poorer.
@liztai no scene of Japanese people in the movie. 😐 The movie is about the guilt of Oppenheimer but they could have at least shown a scene of Japanese people because he was guilty for what he did to them.
