Don’t care. I’m still not willing to take the chance.

Someone just came by my house and tried to collect our mail-in ballots. They said they were representing a local democratic politician, and said that they would deliver our ballot for us. We asked for his identification, which he gave, and any sort of identification showing he was with who he said he was with. And he supplied all of it.

And we still didn’t give him our ballots.

I don’t know if this guy was legit or not, but there’s no fucking way I’m taking a chance with this election.

@dansup Bluesky is cosplaying a decentralized/federated service that is owned by a bunch of rich people who care nothing more about their users other then how they increase their earning potential.

If someone wants to get offended by that truth, let them.

@CliffWade @beardedtechguy @steve @dansup I can only assume that there's something wrong with the registration that is beyond Dans control. Whatever it is I hope he resolves it soon. I'm sure that all of these toots that mention him are starting to get annoying. Especially if he has no control over it.

There is no algorithm that brings posts to your timeline. The only posts you will see under your Home tab will be either people that you follow, or the boosts from people that you follow.

Last night while only a few minutes into my meditation, my senior dog Dax, put his chin on my knee and waited.

And I thought to myself that I should ignore him so that he doesn't continue the behavior.

But there he was. His big Doberman chin on my knee. Waiting to be loved.

And then I reminded myself that I wouldn't have him for much longer.

So I paused my meditation, pet his face, scratched his neck and told him he was a good boy.

Nothing is more important than expressing love.

@dansup that's a long time to hold a fart.

This is a gentle reminder that if you live in the U.S. to be aware that peoples nerves will be on high alert the closer we get to the election.

It can really stress people out.

So while you're out in the world today, remember that the little acts of kindness that you share with others can go a long way towards smoothing out their day and your own.

Give a deserved compliment.
Hold a door open for someone.
Use your manners. (manners are how we show we care.)

Every little bit of kindness helps.

The closer we get to the elections, the more anxious people will be.

Anxiety can lead to frustration, and frustration can often lead to anger.

We can each offset this anxiety in our own and others lives by doing one simple thing.

Practice kindness.

I don't mean "be kind". I mean "practice kindness". One is a state of being, the other is action made manifest.

Look for opportunities to share kindness. It WILL help.
